Weigh-in: -4.8
Total: -41.2
Lately I've sort of gain and losing the same pound or so over and over again. I hadn't really made any progress since around mid-July. But I was really careful this week (though I still managed TF's with BFFMandy and a pizzeria date) and I finally kicked the last few pounds to reach a forty pound loss. I could not be more stoked. My next mini-goal is approximately 6 pounds which will put me at right around 20% of my starting weight.

Matt Nathanson, Maroon 5, and Train
It seems fitting to write about a concert as a wind down my year of blogging. It was about a year ago that I blogged about the Jack Johnson show. That seems like it was ages ago and only a few weeks ago at the same time; it's funny how that happens. Anyway, my friends Harkiran, Hannah, Shana, Bethany, and I went to see Matt Nathanson, Maroon 5, and Train at the Tampa Amphitheater (still not calling it the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheater). I do plan to come back an post picture, but it's exceedingly late and my computer is being ridiculous about recognizing my iphone. So let's just have the highlights shall we?
- Matt Nathanson called 1-800-Ask-Gary; the recorded message indicated we were out of the service area.
- People trying to do the Awkward clap during Faster
- Maroon 5 opened with Moves Like Jagger; said Tampa is better than West Palm and called it sticky sweaty hot.
-Adam Levine. Just Adam in Jeans and a white tank top....so hot.
- Sing-a-long to This Love
- Girl With the Broken Smile. AMAZING!
- Train was Train. The Lead singer of Train (who I will henceforth refer to as Crazy Hair because I can't remember his name) looked like he was wearing a members only jacket...
- Crazy Hair tweeted a picture of the crowd holding up their phones like lighters.
- Save Me San Francisco was fun; "I've been high, I've been low, I've been yes, and I've be oh hell no...". This is probably my favorite Train song.
- To "ward off the rain" Train covered Rihanna's Umbrella, it was actually quite good.
- Some girl got proposed to during Marry Me. Crazy Hair proclaimed Train married to Tampa.
- Hey Soul Sister and Drops of Jupiter were clear the favorite songs of their set.

I'm having one of those way to involved in a good book nights. This happens to me occasionally; I am currently reading The Weird Sisters and it is over all and excellent book (though not having a sister I have no comment on the portrayal of the sisterly relationship). I really wanted to finish it before the the library takes back their e-book and now I will be totally exhausted in the AM. On the plus side...new book tomorrow. Yes, I do read that much. Don't judge me.

I fell asleep on the couch while I was reading. This is one of my favorite ways to drift off. Even when I was a child I would read at night to help prepare myself to go to sleep (now I also read early in the mornings to help myself wake up!). This sort of easy slide into sleeep always feels so relaxed and restful to me.

I know I wrote about being on Pinterest last week-ish. I just wanted to say as much as I enjoy it and I am always finding new and interesting things...this website is a serious time suck. Seriously, do not log on unless you have a good bit of time to play around with, otherwise you'll look up and two or four hours will have gone by while your were pinning and re-pinning.

Allergic to the Sun?
I think I'm having and allergic reaction to the sun. No just a sunburn, but an actual raised, rashy, itchy, allergic reaction. Whoever heard of someone being allergic to the sun?

Vacation Day 5: The End
Vacation was fantastic! Relaxing and fun and and sunny!
I saw lots of great wildlife; sea turtles, dolphins, fish, birds, sand crabs, and this odd half crab half spider thing that I'm pretty sure tried to eat me alive.
The water was warm but rough with bigger waves than I've seen before (and I grew up going to this string of beaches); we did get in some fantastic boogie boarding though. I called a truce with my mortal enemy the sand for five days and we parted on semi-civil terms.
It was an excellent vacation and I'm sorry to see it end. Tomorrow it's back to the real world, but there are only 124 days until I go to Mexico/Belize/Honduras for Christmas!

Vacation Day 4
Another relaxing day at the beach. The waves were crazy...like probably six foot swells. We had fun boogie boarding though. It was hard to stay out for too long because of the undercurrent (it was hard to even walk at some points. It was definitely fun though.

Vacation Day 3;
We went to the Daytona Beach Flea Market today. They had lots of interesting things; I found a 13x9 pan for like six dollars. YoungerBrotherGreg also got here this afternoon. We had a great dinner at Dolphin's View a small counter-service seafood restaurant. The fish was super fresh and they had a fabulous view of the intercoastal waterway. We spent the evening hanging out and watching the dolphins swim by.

Vacation Day 2: Beach!
Today was my first full day at the beach. The water was super choppy, but Dad and I got in some good boogie boarding. Later in the evening we all went to the New Symrna Beach Shrimp and Seafood Festival. The food was fantastic!

Day 1: Relaxing at the Beach
I made it over to the beach today around Noon. I spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach and then had a fabulous dinner with Mom and Dad. Yay vacation!

Today was super fun and relaxing. BFFMandy, Colin, and I went to the Oldsmar Flea Market, it was seriously fun; full of both good deals and total ridiculousness. Then we had lunch at Nikki's Omelette & Grill; the food was fantastic and fairly inexpensive. BFFMandy and I spent the rest of the afternoon watching chick flicks (The Holiday and P.S-I Love You) and the Next Food Network Star finale. Other items of note:
1. I'm on Pintrest, check it out.
2. BFFMandy also put together shelves and they look totally fabulous
3. Two days until vacation!!!!

2. Watch this. It's freaking hilarious.
3. Jersey Shore is back!!! (It was actually back last week, but whatever)
4. How cute is this?
5. This is so freaking adorable and actually really useful.

If I Knew You Were Coming...
A lot of my early are of being in the kitchen with my Mom. I remember finger-painting on cookie trays on the kitchen floor and creating a symphony with a metal pan and a wooden spoon. I remember watching my mother make meatballs, oil lasagna noodles, or roll out pie crust. I remember "helping" make chocolate chip cookie, brownies, and my Dad's annual Birthday Carrot Cake.
It was during this "Can I help?" period that I got an EasyBake Oven, it was white and hot pink with a little purple. It baked cake and cookies with a light bulb...a light bulb! I was amazed, except I'm pretty sure I remember the food tasting like crap. But I loved being able to bake on my own; to dump those teensy envelopes of white powder it a bowl and mix mix mix, then scrape it into a pan (like a real baker), and put it in the oven. But, I learned something sort of tragic yesterday reading FoodNetwork Magazine. Due to the phasing out of 100-watt incandescent light bulbs Hasbro is re-making the EasyBake. No longer will mini-bakers-in-training mix and pour and bake by light bulb. They will have an EasyBake with some sort of real heating element (lame!). This makes me sad, but I'm glad I have fond EasyBake memories.

Sunday very often sets the tone for the rest of my week. It's the day I'm able to prep and plan for the week ahead; it's also the day I do a lot of the cooking for the week. Today's cooking included grilling flank steak and chili-lime chicken, roasting corn for soup, making egg casserole for breakfasts, and making margaritas. It was a fairly busy day in the kitchen.

Happy Friday Eve
Who has two thumbs and is sooo ready for the weekend? This girl. Today was good; I made it back to the pub run after being away for several weeks. It was hot and muggy and gross, but I'm glad I went. Also glad tomorrow is Friday.

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday
Can y'all tell from the title I don't really have anything to say tonight? I was going to post this pretty awesome recipe Thai Peanut Pork, but I can't find the original recipe...so no recipe until that happens. Instead I'll share a few things I'm looking forward to:
1. It's almost football season. I'm very excited about this because I like baseball, but this is the time of year when I start to go stir crazy without football or hockey.
2. I'm moving up on the waiting list at the library to read Game of Thrones, maybe I'll have it in time for my trip to the beach the week after next.
3. There are 142 days until my upcoming cruise/vacation!!!
